Making the Best Better

"I like working in the Milkshake Barn because I learn good social skills talking with people and I am getting good at stacking ice cream containers. I look forward to the milkshake barn every year!"
Lane Bechstein, age 13

4-H Honor Court Award Program for
Wood County Teens

Funds from those delicious “4-H milkshakes” made at the Wood County Fair have tangible effects on the youth throughout  the county. One example is the Wood County 4-H Honor Court Award program. Since 2008, nearly 100 teens have been awarded funds to help with expenses for college or post-secondary education.

$4,500 in funds was shared among the recipients in 2019.

Shakin' it up!

Fun Facts for 2018
- Used 3,600 gallons of ice cream and 600 gallons of milk
- Filled 19,675 cups (Thank you BG Frosty Fare!)
- Over 900 members and adult volunteers spun milkshakes for 8 days of the Wood County Fair and 3 day of the National Tractor Pulls!
