Give Back Program

In celebration of Wood County 4-H's 100th birthday, the Foundation asked clubs to conduct a member led community service activity where they took action in the community and had the opportunity to earn a $100 grant for their club. Twelve clubs participated in the Clover Legacy Give Back Program and gave "their hands to larger service" to help our community.

The Golden Key 4-H Club had 15 members assist the Wood County Park District maintain new and old flower beds. Their donated time allowed park employees more time to put toward other greenhouse projects and the club members learned about how flowers and vegetation impact insects, butterflies, and birds in our community.

The Duke's Mixture 4-H Club painted a wooden train located at the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church in Wayne, Ohio for their community service activity for the Clover Legacy Foundation Give Back Program. The train and playground was erected in memory of Hunter Blasius, brother of club member Dakota Blasius, and the club was honored to give it a fresh coat of paint as well as clean up the rest of the playground for community members to enjoy!

As part of the Clover Legacy Give Back program, the Green Meadows 4-H Club cleaned the Tontogany Presbyterian Church before Easter service this past spring. They hold their meetings at the church and wanted to give back as a thank you for their hospitality.

The Klassy Kids 4-H Club made a great effort to beautify their community with flowers. They helped the local garden club plant flower beds at the main entrance of North Baltimore, they helped a newly widowed community member get her home ready for spring by pulling weeds, painting shutters, spraying for bugs, and cleaning up downed branches, and the cloverbuds also planted window boxes at a local business. They say they are not sure who felt a larger impact, the community or the club members themselves!
