Milkshakes are our bread and butter of fundraising, or delicious ice cream and milk! Wood County 4-H members started serving hand-dipped milkshakes in 2002. After 15 years, the original outdoor shed building had seen its fair share of repairs and we had outgrown the space. In 2016, the Wood County 4-H Committee considered the options for a milkshake barn and decided it was worth the investment to build a new building.
In preparation for a capitol campaign to raise the funds to build, the Wood County Clover Legacy Foundation was formed as a fundraising and investment organization for the Wood County 4-H Youth Development Program. Through the generosity of club members, corporate sponsors, and everyone in between, the new, well designed, and beautiful milkshake barn opened in 2017 for the Wood County Fair.
The Wood County Clover Legacy Foundation continues to manage, invest, and donate back funds raised through selling 4-H Milkshakes at both the Wood County Fair and National Tractor Pulling Championships. Wood County 4-H Committee maintains the building, coordinates supplies, workers, and other tasks in cooperation with Ohio State University 4-H Extension staff.
The Foundation continues its original role as an active part in the success of the 4-H Milkshake Barn while continuing to invest and provide funding for Wood County 4-H youth development.
