With all of the rain that we are receiving, parking will be determined on Sunday. Parking volunteers will be on-site to assist. Handicap parking will be available on the south side of the Pavilion. Please avoid parking in any barricaded areas. The State Bank GIVES truck will have a snack and drink available to you before or after volunteering if you choose. There will also be cookies provided by Off the Rails Food Trolley (handed out at the GIVES truck.) This day was made possible through a generous donation by a local family wishing to remain anonymous, plus funds from the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club, and numerous other monetary and in-kind donors! Thank you to these generous donors! Bed Building Volunteers Set-up volunteers, please be at the Champion Barn on the fairgrounds to check-in by 12:00 pm. You will need to sign a waiver and then receive instructions on set-up. Bed building volunteers, please be at the Champion Barn on the fairgrounds to check-in by 1:00 pm. Bed building will begin promptly at 1:00 pm. You will need to sign a waiver, listen to safety instructions and then receive your building assignment. Meal Packing Volunteers Set-up volunteers, please be at the Pratt Livestock Pavilion on the fairgrounds (across from the 4-H Milkshake Barn) to check-in by 1:00 pm. You will need to sign a waiver at the main check-in of the Pavilion. Then you will be directed to check-in for the meal packing and receive instructions on set-up. Meal packing volunteers, please be at the Pratt Livestock Pavilion on the fairgrounds to check-in by 1:45 pm, with meal packing to begin promptly at 2:00 pm. It will take approximately 1 hour to pack the 10,000 meals that we have agreed to prepare. You will need to sign a waiver at the main check-in of the Pavilion. Then you will be directed to check-in for the meal packing and receive instructions on hand washing and get a hairnet and gloves. Meal packing will take place on the south side of the Pavilion (closest to the restrooms.) If you choose to come early or stay after your assigned meal packing time, there will be community service projects that you can participate in at the north side of the building to include: making dog and cat toys for the Wood County Dog Shelter and the Wood County Humane Society, stuffing pillows for Hospice of Northwest Ohio, making military veteran greetings for Flag City Honor Flight, crafting Senior Smile gifts for the Wood County Committee on Aging, and decorating and planting pots for area nursing homes. |
