THANK YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL DAY!!

See you again on April 19, 2026!

The 4-H Pledge includes pledging "...our hands to larger service for our club, community, country, and our world." Our inaugural day of service brought 4-H members, volunteers, and the community together for a shared purpose of making a difference.

This day was made possible through a generous donation by a local family wishing to remain anonymous, plus funds from the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club, and numerous other monetary and in-kind donors!

Watch the WTOL interview about the day and 4-H in general from 4-H members Madi Lee and Carter Lampe here.

Volunteers completed hands-on projects benefiting eight local organizations, including:
  • Building headboards and bed rails for 30 beds for Let’s Build
  • Packaging 10,000 meals for Kids Coalition Against Hunger
  • Stuffed and sewed over 255 pillows for Hospice of Northwest Ohio
  • Created 136 origami animals, 33 Easter coloring sheets, 68 bunny crafts, and 80 pipe cleaner butterflies to send as “Senior Smiles” to the Wood County Committee on Aging
  • Made 143 greeting cards for Flag City Honor Flight
  • Assembled too many to count dog treats and toys for the Wood County Humane Society and Wood County Dog Shelter
  • Planted and decorated numerous flowerpots for area nursing homes and senior centers
The next Hands To Larger Service Day will be in April 19, 2026 thanks to another generous anonymous donation from the same family. If you are an organization that could benefit from a hands-on service project that can be done at the Wood County Fairgrounds, contact us or email [email protected]!
