The Wood County 4-H Milkshake Barn is a huge undertaking, and we are incredibly grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who make it possible each year! That said, it may surprise you to learn that we are still looking for additional volunteers to help with the many behind-the-scenes tasks that keep the barn running smoothly.
We’re seeking extra help with nightly cleaning after the barn closes during fair week, potential shift supervisors to assist clubs with transitions and daily operations, and on-call “SOS” milkshake-making volunteers who can jump in when lines get extra long. In addition to fair week, we also need adult volunteers to help during the National Tractor Pulls. If you’re willing to lend a hand, please fill out this form and we’ll reach out with more details based on current needs and requirements. The Milkshake Barn committee and staff are truly grateful for every volunteer who helps make this tradition possible. We couldn’t do it without you! |
Clean Milkshake Barn at Closing
This is a nightly task at the fair to include: cleaning machines, restocking freezers and paper products, finishing dishes, taking out trash, spray washing the floor, folding laundry, washing windows, etc. A list of tasks will be available to follow in the milkshake barn. Shift Supervisors Review procedures with clubs, monitor product stock, keep the laundry running, monitor cleanliness and remove trash as needed, assist with gift card sales, etc. Shifts are daytime 9:45am-4:30pm and nighttime 4:30pm-10:00pm. SOS Milkshake-Makers Be on call for "SOS" milkshake barn needs. You should be on-site at the fairgrounds (most days) and come running to help make milkshakes as needed! Tractor Pull Shifts It takes a lot of adult volunteers to run the milkshake barn during the pulls. We are busy, the shifts are fast paced, and we have a lot of fun! |
